Research Interests
I have studied factors contributing to later personality development and psychosocial adjustment from an individual difference and a longitudinal perspective starting in infancy. Theoretical guidelines have mainly come from attachment theory and temperament perspectives. We followed a sample of about 100 families from infant age 6 weeks until the children were 9 years of age. Data on the "children" at the age of 21 years have recently been collected; analyses have just begun. Other areas connected to the above interests are parental experiences (e.g., stress, control, support), mother - infant interactions and teacher - child interactions as well as the connection between attachment and religiousness.
