The aims of the group are:
- to conduct research in music psychology
- to offer courses in music psychology
- to organize open seminars in music psychology
- to foster national and international links among individuals and organizations interested in music psychology
Research in music psychology at Uppsala University began in the early seventies. Courses have been offered since 1978, and open seminars have been organized since 1988.
Our research has focused especially on the expression and experience of emotions in music, but has also involved emotion in speech, music education, music and health, performing arts medicine, expression in dancing, and perception and production of rhythm.
